See Santa and the tree lighting at Merry and Bright in Bartlett

Merry and Bright in Bartlett begins with the Holiday Tree Lighting from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Bartlett Park, Oak and North avenues.

From 5 to 8 p.m., ride through downtown Bartlett in a horse-drawn wagon. Enjoy cookies, cocoa, the DJ spinning holiday music and the warmth from the fire pits. Grab a bite to eat from the food trucks, and see a live reindeer, ice sculpture, and visit with some Disney characters.

At 5 p.m., Santa arrives with Mrs. Claus and his elves. The Bartlett Lions Club invites you to visit Santa in the log cabin until 6:30 p.m. Bring your camera to take photos of your little ones.

Also, help the Bartlett Lions Club help those less fortunate by bringing a nonperishable food item for the Hanover Township Food Pantry.

At 6:30 p.m., the South Elgin High School choir sings holiday songs in the gazebo, followed from 6:30 to 8 p.m. by music and visits with special Disney friends.

At 7 p.m., the holiday tree will be lit.
