Immigration analogy

Let's say you have a basement with essentials like a furnace, water heater, washer and dryer. The rest of the basement is finished and furnished with nice furniture. Then it happened. A water pipe breaks pouring water into the basement. The sump pump cannot keep up with the rising water threatening all the items in the basement. What do you do? A) Shut off the water and repair the pipe. B) Go to the store and buy another pump and keep adding pumps until the water stops rising.

Our southern border is that basement.
