A Wheeling man has been identified as the motorcyclist killed in a crash Friday in North Chicago, Lake County authorities said Monday.

David Drower, 36, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to preliminary autopsy results released by the Lake County coroner's office.

Authorities said the crash occurred about 3:37 p.m. Friday when a 2020 Range Rover made a U-turn near 3200 Skokie Valley Highway (Route 41), leading to Drower's 2017 Honda Sport motorcycle crashing into the rear of the SUV.

Drower was taken from the scene to Lake Forest Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room, the coroner's office reported.

The Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County and North Chicago police continue to investigate the crash.
