Arlington 425 project returns to Arlington Heights design commission

The stalled Arlington 425 mixed-use redevelopment project will return to the Arlington Heights design commission Tuesday night for review of architectural changes.

The panel will evaluate changes to the exterior materials and balconies for the proposal at 225 W. Campbell St. in the village's downtown. Developers are proposing a 10-story, 234-unit apartment building with streetside retail space.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on the third floor of village hall, 33 S. Arlington Heights Road.

Redevelopment of the long-vacant Block 425 has been delayed amid financing woes. Earlier this year, developer Bruce Adreani received another extension to the village board's 2019 zoning approvals for the project.

The proposal also calls for a five-story, 85-unit building of apartments or condominiums along Chestnut Avenue, and a four- or five-story parking garage on Highland Avenue.
