Elgin Symphony Orchestra presents 'Holiday Spectacular' Dec. 9-10

It's that time of year when the Elgin Symphony Orchestra joins with the Elgin Master Chorale to present three opportunities to celebrate the holiday season with festive music, favorite carols, dance performances by students from the Integrity School of Dance, and a guest appearance by Santa Claus.

This year's "Holiday Spectacular" performances will be led by ESO Music Director Chad Goodman on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2:30 p.m. at the Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way in Elgin.

This year's musical selections will include "The Nutcracker," "Sleigh Ride," "Fantasia on Greensleeves," "Navidad Latina," music of John Rutter, and favorite holiday carols.

Tickets start at $20.

Purchase tickets online at www.ElginSymphony.org, or at the ESO box office, 20 DuPage Court in Elgin, or by phone at (847) 888-4000, Tuesday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Students with a valid ID can receive a 50 percent discount. Youth tickets, for children ages 17 and under, are $10.

The ESO offers one free youth ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket.

To take advantage of the student discount and the free youth ticket offer, contact the ESO box office during box office hours.

The Elgin Master Chorale is comprised of approximately 85 adult singers - admitted by audition only - who share a passion for choral masterworks and other fine choral repertoire.
