Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners to discuss leadership and goals at Nov. 21 meeting

At their next monthly meeting, the Batavia Plain Dirt Gardeners will discuss "Our Mission, Our Leadership, Our Goals" on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

Club members are still grieving and adjusting to the loss of longtime president Diana Sharp, who passed away after a long battle with breast cancer.

She had led the garden club for so long, that when the current leadership group met recently, none could recall how long -- possibly as long as 20 years. What a legacy - and what a loss!

It will be a bit different from typical meetings. They will spend time discussing, then developing a finalized mission statement and discuss leadership where several roles are open.

Club members are encouraged to step forward for one of these roles if you have the desire and skills to do so. They are asking for a two-year commitment if you are selected for a role. They want to give leaders enough time to develop and thrive in the role, without the expectation that it is a "forever" role.

It will begin with a social time at 6:30 p.m. with the business meeting at 6:45 p.m. at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.

Come ready to discuss and to work toward the garden club's future as a vital part of Batavia's community.
