Nominations being accepted for new high school sports award

Daily Herald readers will have the opportunity each month to nominate and vote for their favorite high school athlete for a new award, Daily Herald Athlete of the Month.

Each month through June the Daily Herald will award two athletes from each of four areas: northwest Cook County, DuPage County, Kane County and Lake County.

For November, nominations will be accepted through Nov. 18. Voting runs Nov. 19-25.

Visit events.dailyherald.com, click on the Athlete of the Month graphic and it'll take you to the nomination form for your athlete's school.

Everyone who submits a nomination will be notified when the voting part of this promotion begins.

Each athlete who wins will receive a free pizza from Moretti's Restaurants, with locations throughout the Daily Herald coverage area.

Once we have our winners the Daily Herald will provide full-page coverage of the winners, which will appear in the newspaper on the first Friday of each month, beginning with Dec. 1.

Everyone who nominates an athlete will be entered to win pizza for a year.
