Aurora man pleads guilty to putting child porn video on social media

An Aurora man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison in exchange for pleading guilty Wednesday to disseminating child pornography.

Gabriel M. Martinez, 30, of the 900 block of Pearl Street, circulated a video on social media that depicted a child under the age of 13 engaged in a sexual act, according to the Kane County state's attorney's office.

He will have to serve at least 50% of his sentence before being eligible for parole. He received credit for 373 days he spent in jail awaiting trial. Martinez was charged in September 2022. The Aurora Police Department investigated the case.

Martinez has to register for life as a sex offender. But he is already on the registry for a 2016 case in which he pleaded guilty to criminal sexual abuse by force of a 12-year-old victim.
