Reception opening in Arlington Heights for artist Brittany Caldwell
An opening reception featuring the paintings of local contemporary artist Brittany Caldwell is scheduled for Thursday night at an Arlington Heights art gallery.
Caldwell's new painting series, "All The Pretty Vultures," will be on display at The Empty Corner, 214 E. Grove St., through Dec. 9. An artist talk is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday with the reception to follow at 7 p.m.
The exhibition romanticizes life and death by exploring the duality of nature, human development and reality, curators say. Wildlife and open sky have filled her paintings with meaning since she lived in Wyoming, where her work has been featured, in addition to Wheaton.
