College football roundup: Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Oregon win

No. 1 Georgia 30, No. 14 Missouri 21:

Defensive tackle Nazir Stackhouse's fourth-quarter interception helped protect No. 1 Georgia's slim lead and the Bulldogs beat No. 14 Missouri 30-21 for their 26th consecutive win. Georgia, the two-time defending national champion, had to rally to win the key SEC East matchup against Missouri. The Tigers led 13-10 early in the second half. Georgia answered with two straight touchdowns, a 15-yard run by Kendall Milton and Carson Beck's 5-yard scoring pass to Oscar Delp. Georgia led 27-21 when Stackhouse, a 6-foot-3, 320-pound senior, picked off Brady Cook's short pass. Beck passed for 254 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

No. 2 Michigan 41, Purdue 13:

Blake Corum matched his season high with three touchdowns and Semaj Morgan ran for a 44-yard score, leading No. 2 Michigan to a 41-13 victory over Purdue on Saturday night. The Wolverines (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) routed another overmatched opponent, as they have each game this season, amid an NCAA investigation into allegations that they broke rules with a sign-stealing scheme. Purdue coach Ryan Walters said two days before the game that he knew "for a fact" that Michigan was at number of his team's games, forcing his players to learn a new language. The Boilermakers (2-7, 1-5) used a staffer and backup quarterbacks to signal plays from the sideline as they have appeared to do all season.

No. 3 Ohio State 35, Rutgers 16:

Cornerback Jordan Henderson woke up No. 3 Ohio State early in the second half with a 93-yard interception return for a touchdown and the Buckeyes rallied from their first halftime deficit of the season to beat vastly improved Rutgers 35-16. Kyle McCord hit Marvin Harrison Jr. on two of his three touchdown passes and TreVeyon Henderson ran for 128 yards and score as the Buckeyes (9-0, 6-0 Big, No. 1 in CFP) beat Rutgers (6-3, 3-3) for the 10th straight time. Gavin Wimsatt threw a touchdown pass to JaQuae Jackson, Jai Petel hit three short field goals and Kyle Monangai ran for 159 yards for his third straight over the century mark.

Jordan Travis ran for a touchdown and threw for another and No. 4 Florida State clinched a spot in the ACC Championship game with a 24-7 win over Pittsburgh. The Seminoles won their 15th straight by pulling away from the Panthers in the second half. Travis hit tight end Markeston Douglas for a 22-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter to give Florida State a 10-point lead. Trey Benson sprinted 55 yards on the Seminoles' next possession to break it open. Travis finished with 360 yards passing and also ran for a touchdown.

No. 6 Oregon 63, California 19:

Bo Nix threw four touchdown passes and ran for two more scores and No. 6 Oregon pulled away from California in a wild first half in a 63-19 victory Saturday. Nix completed 29 of 38 passes for 38 yards. He had a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs. Tez Johnson caught 12 passes for 180 yards and two scores and the Ducks (8-1, 4-1 Pac-12, No. 6 CFP) remained undefeated at Autzen Stadium. Jaydn Ott ran for 93 yards and a touchdown for the Golden Bears (3-6, 1-5). Nohl Williams scored on a fumble return and Mateen Bhaghani made two field goals.

No. 7 Texas 33, No. 25 Kansas State 30, OT:

Bert Auburn kicked a 42-yard field goal in overtime and the Texas defense got a key stop on fourth down to earn a 33-30 win Saturday in a matchup of Big 12 co-leaders. No. 7 Texas had led 27-7 late in the third quarter before No. 25 Kansas State stormed back with three touchdown passes from Will Howard. Texas went nowhere on its first possession of overtime before Auburn's go-ahead kick. Kansas State then drove to the Texas 6. Three consecutive plays gained only 2 yards before the Wildcats went for the win instead of the tie. Howard was pressured and his pass was batted down.

No. 9 Penn State 51, Maryland 15:

Drew Allar threw three of his four touchdown passes in the first half and No. 9 Penn State easily handled Maryland 51-15 to set up a showdown with Michigan next week. The Nittany Lions never were in danger of their meeting with fading Maryland becoming a trap game. The Terrapins have dropped four in a row, and a season that began with five straight wins is in danger of really unraveling. Penn State season leading receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith went down holding his left knee during the fourth quarter but he was able to walk off.

Oklahoma State 27, No. 10 Oklahoma 24:

Ollie Gordon II ran for 137 yards and two touchdowns, and Oklahoma State defeated No. 10 Oklahoma 27-24 in the last Bedlam rivalry game before Oklahoma leaves the Big 12 for the Southeastern Conference next year. Quinshon Judkins ran for three touchdowns, including the game-winner from a yard out with 1:40 remaining as No. 11 Mississippi rallied to defeat Texas A&M 38-35. Ole Miss preserved the win on the final play as Zxavian Harris tipped Randy Bond's 47-yard field-goal attempt. The Rebels kept pace in the SEC West race. Judkins, who had 102 yards rushing on 23 carries, capped a nine-play, 75-yard drive to give the Rebels the decisive margin. Jaxson Dart was 24 of 33 for 387 yards and two touchdowns.

Clemson 31, No. 12 Notre Dame 23:

Phil Mafah ran for a personal-high 186 yards and two touchdowns in relief of the injured Will Shipley and Clemson held off No. 12 Notre Dame 31-23 to end a disheartening two-game losing streak Saturday. The Tigers came in with more losses in a season than it had in 13 years and still stinging from the radio criticism of "Tyler from Spartanburg," who called out Dabo Swinney and drew a strong, even hostile rebuke from the coach that apparently fired up the whole group. Clemson linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. had a 28-yard pick six score off Irish quarterback Sam Hartman.

Army 23, No. 17 Air Force 3:

Bryson Daily ran for 170 yards and two touchdowns, Army's defense forced six turnovers and the Black Knights knocked No. 17 Air Force from the list of undefeated teams with a 23-3 win. The Black Knights entered as an 18 1/2-point underdog, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The mistake-prone Falcons had four fumbles, threw two interceptions, missed a 32-yard field goal and turned the ball over twice on downs as their best start since 1985 came to a halt. They entered as one of eight undefeated teams. Army snapped a five-game skid and moved into the driver's seat to hoist the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy.

No. 18 Utah 55, Arizona State 3:

Bryson Barnes passed for 161 yards and a career-high four touchdowns and Ja'Quinden Jackson rushed 13 times for 111 yards to lead No. 18 Utah past Arizona State 55-3. Barnes, who also ran for 56 yards, threw his last touchdown to Landen King with 12:59 left and took the rest of the game off. Jackson sprinted for a 54-yard touchdown early in the third quarter but landed awkwardly in the end zone and had to be helped off the field. The Utes already have two running backs, Micah Bernard and Chris Curry, out for the season.

No. 21 Tulane 13, East Carolina 10:

Michael Pratt threw a short touchdown pass to Lawrence Keys III while No. 21 Tulane's defense turned in a smothering effort to help the Green Wave beat East Carolina 13-10 on Saturday. Tulane got off to a slow start to trail 10-0 after the first quarter. But the defense didn't give up much from there against an ECU offense that has been anemic all season. The one-win Pirates scored on their first two drives, tallying 143 yards through the opening 15 minutes. But Tulane's defense allowed just 47 yards from there. Gerald Green ran for ECU's lone TD.

No. 22 Kansas 28, Iowa State 21:

Jason Bean passed for 287 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown to Lawrence Arnold after Iowa State pulled within three points in the fourth quarter, and the No. 22 Jayhawks held off the Cyclones for a 28-21 victory. The Jayhawks won consecutive conference games for the first time since 2008. They also reached the seven-win mark and won in Ames for the first time since that '08 season. Iowa State began the day in a five-way tie for first place in the Big 12, but the Cyclones' comeback bid came up short after trailing 21-3 with 9:24 left in the third quarter.

Michigan State 20, Nebraska 17:

Katin Houser and Sam Leavitt each threw touchdown passes and Noah Kim kicked two field goals to help Michigan State snap a six-game losing streak with a 20-17 victory over Nebraska. It is the Spartans' first win under interim coach Harlon Barnett, who took over when Mel Tucker was fired Sept. 27. Michigan State had dropped seven straight conference games since beating Rutgers Nov. 12, 2023.

Indiana 20, Wisconsin 14:

Indiana quarterback Brendan Sorsby ran for one touchdown and threw for another, leading the Hoosiers past short-handed Wisconsin 20-14. The Hoosiers snapped a six-game conference losing streak that dated to last November. Wisconsin lost its first road game in the series since 2002. The Badgers played without their starting quarterback or either of their top two running backs. Indiana won despite gaining only 36 yards and scoring only three points in the second half - a 50-yard field goals with 70 seconds left.
