Highland Avenue Church features folk duo at Nov. 17 coffeehouse

Editor's note: This submitted release has been updated with the correct event date.

From "Celtic to Cowboy" - that's how the Chicago-based folk duo of Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso describe the repertoire they will bring to the Highland Avenue Coffeehouse on Friday, Nov. 17.

Calling themselves Small Potatoes, and doing original songs, an Irish tune or two, some country, rock classics, plus stories and humor, this duo will charm and engage the coffeehouse audience.

When they are not singing, Jacquie and Rich take people on tours to Ireland, in the daytime visiting fishing villages, ancient stone circles, church ruins, and other sites of interest, while at night listening to local music.

Among their recordings, Small Potatoes has a 2012 holiday album, "Christmas in the Cabin," as well as the 2000 album "Waltz of the Wallflowers (A Dysfunctional Duet)."

The coffeehouse, which is open to the community, will begin at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, 783 W. Highland Ave. in Elgin.

The Highland Avenue Coffeehouse offers music and light refreshments.

There is no cover charge; donations are appreciated. For information, call (847) 741-5124 or go to www.hacob.org.
