Solar limitations

The recent Daily Herald front-page story on the 10 acres of solar panel field needed to supply about half the energy needed for the single Kane County Judicial building and Jail is enlightening. Imagine how many barren acres of land would be needed with the current technology to supply merely half the energy of a community of only 20,000 people? Larger places - forget it.
