Not all conservatives support Trump
I must respond to two recent letters in the Daily Herald.
Gentleman No. 1: First of all, Donald Trump does not speak for all conservatives or Republicans. He might lead in the polls now, but he is not yet on the 2024 ticket and may never be. Watch out for Nikki Haley.
You make a very strong statement which is not accurate that the Republican Party denies there are climate control issues. We need to take precautions to protect our climate, but before you turn off one energy switch (petroleum), you must be prepared to turn on another, something Biden has not done. While exploring ways to make our climate safe, we must be energy independent.
Yes, the future election is important and let's hope new leadership will arise that will curtail inflation, make our borders safe, bring safety to American cities, strengthen our military so we are prepared to offset threats from radical foreign powers and of course find ways to protect the environment.
Gentleman No. 2: You have one person to blame for the immigration mess we are in and that is our current president, who has no policy in place. Said many times, the U.S. is a melting pot of legal immigrants. Since Joe Bidden took over, the southern border is in shambles. Rapists, thieves, murderers, terrorists from countries all over the world have entered illegally.
When you take over something (company/country), before you make changes or stop policies in place, you see what is working and what is not. If something is not working, you fix it. If something is working, you leave it as is or improve on it. Mr. Biden did neither.
I appreciate your religious quotes ,but anyone entering this country with good intentions must entered legally as our ancestors did.
