Get rid of old pumpkins Nov. 4 at smashing event in Geneva

Geneva will hold a pumpkin smash event Saturday, Nov. 4, for people to get rid of pumpkins.

It will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Community Gardens at Prairie Green, Peck and Bricher roads.

Vendors will sell pumpkin-themed foods, and people also can recycle batteries, aerosol cans and paint cans for a fee.

All decorations should be removed from the pumpkins. After the event, the Geneva Park District intends to till the smashed material in to the garden plots.
