Sunday Musicale to explore the story of Mary Shelley with music
Community United Methodist Church's next "Sunday Musicale" will feature the story of Mary Shelley, author of "Frankenstein," with music from her lifetime on Sunday, Oct. 22.
It will be offered from 3 to 5 p.m. online or in-person at the church, 20 Center St. in Naperville.
The program will feature award-winning storyteller Megan Wells and Chris Garofalo on piano.
It will feature: Fantasy in F-sharp minor, Op. 28: Con moto agitato by Felix Mendelssohn (1833); Sonata Op. 27, No 2: Adagio sostenuto by Ludwig van Beethoven (1801); Sonata in B-flat: Andante sostenuto by Franz Schubert (1828); Consolation No. 3, Lento placido by Franz Liszt (1849); and Nocturne in C-sharp minor, Op. Post. by Frederic Chopin (1830).
The series features artists from the Chicago metropolitan area which are sponsored by the Senior Outreach and Music Ministries of Community UMC.
It is offered free to the public with a love offering.
The concert will be held in the second-floor sanctuary; elevator and hearing loop are available.
It will be followed by a reception provided by Senior Ministries.
