Aurora church crafts 85 quilts, 50 baby-care kits for charity

St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Aurora blessed 85 handmade quilts and 50 baby kits in worship services on Oct. 14-15.

Celebrating an annual Quilt Weekend, the Rev. Will Fisher blessed the donations which will go to Lutheran World Relief.

Founded in 1945 to collect and send aid to people living in post-World War II Europe, Lutheran World Relief is an international nongovernmental organization that focuses on sustainable development projects and disaster relief and recovery.

Volunteer quilters in Lydia's Piecemakers, a St. Mark's women's group, produced the covers.
