The Family Community Network started in partnership with the Special Education Parent Liaison over 15 years ago to provide educational opportunities to families.

The purpose of this program is to educate parents on education service topics. They provide training and workshops for parents, school personnel, and the community to improve the quality of relationships; and parent networking opportunities and support groups to develop and sustain school and family relationships.

The other upcoming presentations for the 2023-24 school year will be: "Substance Abuse Prevention" on Nov. 16; "How to Advocate For My Child's IEP Needs" on Dec. 14; "Supporting Students Mental Health Needs" on Jan. 18; "How to Help Students Manage Emotions: Executive Functioning Skills" on Feb. 15; and "Post-secondary Planning: Time to Think About It Is Now" on April 20. There also will be a March 14 presentation with a topic to be determined.
