Police: Antioch woman stabbed ex-husband in leg, back
An Antioch woman accused of stabbing her ex-husband multiple times in the leg and back Wednesday is in police custody awaiting a detention hearing.
The 42-year-old man taken to a hospital with stab wounds to his leg and back has been treated and released, police said.
The man could have died had it not been for a neighbor who used a thin rope to apply a tourniquet to his leg, police said, adding that the back wound was a minor injury.
Julie Anderson, 46, has been charged with three felony battery charges including aggravated domestic battery causing great bodily harm. Anderson is scheduled to appear before a judge for a detention hearing Thursday afternoon, court records show.
The neighbor called 911 and Antioch police arrived at the Joanna Court Apartments on Main Street south of North Avenue where Anderson lives around 5 p.m. Wednesday. Investigators say Anderson stabbed her ex-husband during an argument in her apartment over purchases made at the grocery store, police said.
Anderson was taken into custody without any issues, police said.
