Bensenville Park District's Harvest Fest to offer family fun Sept. 30

Bensenville Park District will host its annual Harvest Fest on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Fischer Farm. Last year's three-day Harvest Fest event drew several thousand people.

There will be live music, food and drinks, and a wide range of family-friendly activities from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the farm museum, 16W680 Grand Ave.

Check out the "Meet the Beekeeper" demonstrations from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. or browse the arts and crafts vendors along the Artisan Alley from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sign up in advance for Pumpkin Yoga from 11 to 11:45 a.m.

Other highlights include the Pumpkin Patch, "Bonfire & S'mores," a mechanical bull, bounce houses, straw pyramid, hay rides, kids' arts & crafts, lawn games, pony rides, and face painting.

The Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association will be offering inclusive activities all day.

This year's event will be featuring live performances from six different talented acts: Miss Jamie's Farm from noon to 1 p.m., Dan Asio from 1 to 2 p.m. and 4 to 5 p.m., the Ryan Herrick duo from 2 to 4 p.m., and the Alika Arlynn Band from 5 to 7 p.m.

Admission is free but tickets are required for food, beverages, and many of the activities.

Grand Subaru has generously stepped up as a major sponsor of Harvest Fest.

"Grand Subaru always loves being a part of community events," said Ryan Drouin, general manager of Grand Subaru. "We're excited for a day full of family fun, and we're happy that we can give back to the same neighbors who have done so much for us."

In addition to their significant financial support, Grand Subaru is actively promoting Harvest Fest at their dealership, through their website, email, and various social media channels. Grand Subaru at 125 W. Grand Ave. will be operating "Subie World," a dedicated family activity area named after their beloved mascot. They will be giving out free Plush Subie Dogs along with a choice of many costumes to accessorize the stuffed animal. Families will have access to an animal observation area as well as other activities.

"We recognize Grand Subaru's many contributions to the Bensenville community, including donations to charitable organizations and participation in community activities," said Joe Vallez, executive director of the Bensenville Park District. "Their support of Earth Day at Fischer Farm in April 2023 showcased their commitment to our community. We are pleased to partner with such a fine organization again to help us elevate one of our signature events!"
