Audition for Magical Starlight Theatre's 'Beauty and the Beast' Oct. 7-8

Magical Starlight Theatre, a program of the Naperville Park District, is holding auditions on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7-8, for its January production of "Beauty and the Beast."

Adults and youth, fourth grade and up, may audition for lead roles, supporting roles or the ensemble and are asked to prepare a vocal piece and a monologue from the show based on the role for which they are auditioning.

Additionally, there will be a cold reading from the script and a dance audition. For details and audition materials, visit magicalstarlight.org.

Audition times are from 1 to 5 p.m. on both days at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, 305 W. Jackson Ave. No advance time slot reservation is required; those auditioning are grouped as they arrive. Call backs will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m.

The mission of Magical Starlight Theatre is to create quality family-oriented theatrical productions; to develop a creative, supportive environment for artists; and to expand our community connection through the arts.

"We look forward to another exciting production from Magical Starlight Theatre," said Program Manager Brittany Malatt. "It's a great opportunity for actors and anyone who enjoys theater to get involved. In addition to acting, many people enjoy helping behind the scenes with costumes, sets and other creative work."
