Thank you, responders

We are very grateful for the prompt, courteous service of Schaumburg Police Department Officer Rodney Brown.

Our elderly neighbor was accidentally locked out of her house with no cellphone to call family for help. My husband called 311, who sent the call to the nonemergency police department.

Officer Brown came out to assess the situation. He then requested the Schaumburg Fire Department for assistance. Fireman Mr. Mariotti and Fireman Levin laid out our neighbor's options. They were able to access her home without any damage, to her deep relief.

I can say both men were professional, competent and friendly. They, along with Officer Brown, are a wonderful example of cooperation between departments. We feel very fortunate to live in Schaumburg.
