Batavia man sent to prison for sharing child porn

A Batavia man was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to disseminating child pornography, the Kane County state's attorney's office announced Thursday.

David P. Winecke, 67, of the 1200 block of Hazelwood Court, shared illicit videos as well as photographs depicting victims younger than 13, the news release said.

Winecke, who had been free on $10,000 bond, will be eligible for parole after serving half his sentence. He also receives credit for time spent in Kane County jail before his trial. He also must register for life as a sex offender.
