Elgin Public Museum unveiling new photo exhibit Thursday

The Elgin Public Museum will host an opening of its new photo exhibit, "The Nature of Elgin," on Thursday.

The exhibit features the flora, fauna and natural phenomena of Elgin and includes the work of Carolyn Buhrow, Russ Budzicz, Gil Feliciano, Lynda Hayes, John Johnson, Ira Marcus, Jim Miner, Bruce Shipyor and Suzan Shipyor.

The exhibit runs through the end of the year.

Select original pieces will be for sale, while some prints will be available in the gift shop.

The free opening event takes place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the museum, at 225 Grand Blvd. in Lords Park. Light refreshments will be served.
