Friendship proposal for Justice Thomas

Dear Justice Thomas. It appears you are having difficulty finding friends who don't have access to private jets, yachts, exotic vacation spots, and gobs of money looking for favorable legal rulings. Well, I have the solution. I will be your friend.

While I can't offer the types of perks you are accustomed to, my wife and I have a nice home in a suburb named Libertyville. That surely checks your patriotism box And my wife's late father was a civil rights and criminal defense attorney in Kentucky who received congratulatory correspondence from the late Supreme Court Justice Thorogood Marshall regarding his victory in two historic Kentucky desegregation cases. We have so much in common.

Did I mention that we have waterfront property? Well not exactly, but we do have a lovely, raised deck facing a flood control pond that attracts herons, egrets and kingfishers. And if you miss those luxury yachts and private jets, we are within a 40-minute drive of beautiful Lake Michigan and Waukegan National Airport that handles private, corporate, and governmental aircraft.

I have more to offer, but first let me know if you are interested in my proposal. You might ask Justice Alito and Chief Justice Roberts - who have gone silent on ethics matters - if they would be interested. It would be a win-win situation for everyone. You and the court would be less tempted to push the envelope on ethics.

Looking forward to learning more about the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg who I greatly admired. It seems you two were great friends, so there's hope for you yet.
