Police investigating robbery at Des Plaines 7-Eleven

Des Plaines police are investigating a robbery at a local convenience store.

The stickup occurred about 4:30 a.m. Sunday at 7-Eleven, 1950 E. Touhy Ave.

The robber pointed a handgun at an employee, demanded cash and fled with about $1,000, police said.

Police described the robber as a heavyset, middle-aged man who was more than 6 feet tall and wore jeans.
