Aurora church sets outdoor worship, fall fest

New England Congregational Church, 406 W. Galena Blvd. in Aurora, will hold two outdoor events in September.

At 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3, congregants will worship in green space near the church playground. The service concludes a series of monthly outdoor worship services that began in June.

The Rev. Brandon Perrine, senior minister, said the public is invited. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets.

In addition to Pastor Perrine's sermon, the service will feature communion, special music and a children's Bible story.

On Sunday, Sept. 10, the church will host a community fall festival on green space after 10 a.m. worship.

The event will feature a luncheon with roasted chicken breasts, sloppy joe sandwiches and root-beer floats. Side dishes and desserts will be provided by congregants.

Activities will include games for all ages, a bounce house and glitter tattoos for children.

In case of rain, the event will be held in Friendship Hall.
