Aurora man gets 17 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child

An Aurora man has been sentenced to 17½ years in prison for sexually assaulting a child.

Alberto Huerta, 56, of the 700 block of Grand Avenue, pleaded guilty Aug. 18 to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

Between February 2014 and April 2017, Huerta sexually assaulted the victim, who was younger than 13. Huerta knew the victim.

Huerta will have to register for life as a sex offender.
