Eighth annual Bike for Kids to benefit Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley
Hop on your bike to support Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley at the annual Bike for the Kids event on Sunday, Aug. 27.
This biking fundraiser supports the nonprofit's mission of ensuring that children with disabilities and their families are empowered.
The routes for distances of 12, 25 or 50 miles begin at Festival Park, 132 S. Grove Ave. in Elgin, along the Fox River Trail.
Cyclists can also join the 100-Mile Challenge. This option allows riders to set their own route and complete miles any day they choose, and finish on event day.
The day of fun includes an adapted bike presentation, kid's ride, music, a beer tent, and tacos.
The eighth annual fundraising event will be 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Festival Park, 132 S. Grove Ave. in Elgin.
Choose your distance, and celebrate at the finish line with refreshments and family-friendly entertainment. Adapted bikes and trailers are welcome. All ages and abilities are encouraged to participate. Wheels of all kinds are welcome. This is a supported TRAIL ride. SAG wagon and rest stops are provided on all routes.
Cost is $50 for the 12-, 25- and 50-mile rides, as well as the 100-mile challenge. Sign up via www.classy.org/event/bike-for-the-kids/e465794.
