Golf decorum

A couple of days ago, a story was printed in the Sports section of our terrific paper as to "Do's and Don'ts" for attendees/fans at the upcoming PGA tournament in our area.

Don't get me wrong, I like the film, "Happy Gilmore." It's a fictitious and quite an entertaining story of professional golfing/tournaments gone crazy via an upstart.

The idea of paying for a high-priced ticket and thinking you are now at a WWE event and can act on the course however you please is absurd. The fact that this story was printed tells me that the bulk of those who would need the reminders, outlined very clearly, probably won't read it, don't care and the use of common sense may be a challenge.

To those who will attend and understand what decorum and respect at an event as such is, I salute you. To the others? Grow up.
