Annual Ice Cream Social at the Hanover Township Izaak Walton Center
The Elgin Chapter of the Izaak Walton League will host it's annual Ice Cream Social from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Hanover Township Izaak Walton Center, 899 Jay St., Elgin.
Joining the social this year will be Anderson Humane, House of IG, a rescue and sanctuary for iguanas/reptiles, and staff from the Hanover Township Youth Center. They will be able to answer questions about what they have to offer to the youth of the township.
There is a suggested donation of $2 for cake and ice cream. Raffle tickets for items will also be available. Proceeds will help support local environmental projects and Scout programs the chapter sponsors.
