Car show Saturday commemorates Elgin Road Race

The Fox Valley Chapter of the Model T Ford Club will host its annual car show and a commemorative drive Saturday in Elgin.

The car show will have a variety of vintage automobiles and trophies for participants choice and spectators choice. The event will also feature a food truck, history museum displays, a raffle and more.

The show will take place from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Avantara parking lot, 1950 W. Larkin Ave.

A drive commemorating the last Elgin Road Race 90 years ago will follow at 3:30 p.m. The 8½-mile route follows the original racecourse.
