A plan to conslidate Illinois governments
Reform without delay of the Illinois taxation system is necessary. Here is why.
Rep. Dan Caulkins "fumes that Illinois taxpayers are forced to pay for the state's 8,925 units of government!" Caulkins calls for the consolidation of Illinois' units of government. Government consolidation is long overdue.
There has been no accountability, or movement, as of today as government budgets continue to bloat and property taxes increase. Illinois' nearly 9,000 local government system is a political tar pit of corruption, cronyism, nepotism, patronage and waste.
Therefore, Illinois lawmakers must address these proposed solutions from the We The People Campaign to Save Illinois. Members include Anthony Travis (The Tax Doctor) Cook County, Bob Anderson (Advocate Government Consolidation) McHenry County and Dr. Gabriele Strohschen (Advocate Government Consolidation) Cook County.
1. Consolidate 102 Counties to 50;
2. Consolidate 859 school districts to 50 county unified school districts;
3. Liquidate 1,429 township governments, not the 1,398 township road districts;
4. Remove school funding from property taxes;
Reform without delay.
