Seeing or believing
I found the letters in the Aug. 5 "Your Views" section interesting. While I admire all of the writers for being articulate and passionate about their causes, some of their letters made me wonder about where they found their facts and how they reached conclusions such as the following: Climate change is a myth; we're living under a totalitarian government; Democrats are pushing extreme policies and are socialist, communist and/or fascist; laws passed by a majority of the legislature and upheld by the courts infringe on the rights of citizens who hold a minority opinion.
I think it's time for Americans to ask ourselves whether we believe things because we've seen them or are seeing things because we believe them.
