Randall Oaks Zoo seeking scarecrow sponsors for Fall Festival

Help the Randall Oaks Zoo get into the fall spirit by sponsoring a scarecrow to be displayed during Fall Festival, Sept. 23 to Oct. 29.

Area businesses, organizations, and families are encouraged to participate in this sponsorship opportunity that directly helps the animals at the West Dundee zoo and its ongoing mission of conservation and education.

Randall Oaks Zoo provides each sponsor with the necessary materials to build a scarecrow - framework, pants, shirt, head, and straw.

Participants supply any additional design elements to personalize their creations to make them uniquely their own.

The sponsorship deadline is Tuesday, Sept. 12, for anyone interested in participating.

Each sponsor is invited to be part of the "Great Scarecrow Build," where your group can come to the zoo for free to work on your creation on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16-17.

Your group or family can come to the Zoo for free between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to work on your creation.

From Sept. 23 to Oct. 29, Randall Oaks Zoo at 1180 N. Randall Road will showcase the scarecrows around the grounds during Fall Festival.

During the annual festival, families enjoy the crisp air, a visit with the animals, hayrides, kids' activities, animal shows, and more.

Sponsorship is $100. All sponsors will receive recognition on the Randall Oaks Zoo Facebook page, newsletter, and signage by your scarecrow.

To become a sponsor, contact Kath Ellinghausen at kellinghausen@dtpd.org or (847) 551-4310.
