Suspicious lack of water at fair
My family enjoyed ourselves immensely at the Lake County Fair in Grayslake, but we were dismayed that there was no free drinking water available. We had brought personal water bottles filled with water since it was a sunny summer day, but when we ran out of water we had no place to refill them.
After our three and a half year-old son ran out of water in his water bottle, we looked on the fair map and there were no water fountain locations marked so then my husband walked around the fair trying to find water. He did not find any drinking fountains, nor did we see any as we walked around throughout the day and even more distressing, the faucets in the bathroom of the expo hall had the cold water shut off so only hot water was available.
This seems like a very suspicious intentional maneuver to force people to purchase water bottles from the outside vendors at between $3-4 per bottle. For a large-scale summer time event to not have drinking water freely available seems quite irresponsible and dangerous. Next year I guess we all need to bring gallon jugs of water.
