Sentences don't seem to fit the crimes

In the Friday, July 14, Daily Herald, it was reported that a man was sentenced to 20 years for attempted robbery (a gun was involved). But the day before, reports said a man was given probation after fleeing the scene of an accident where the driver of the other vehicle was killed due to the crash.

How is either extreme an example of justice?

Outrageous.
