Elgin Donor Club to host annual book review with Jenny Riddle on Sept. 28

The Donor Club of Elgin has announced their annual book review and luncheon. It will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Elgin Country Club.

Jenny Riddle, renowned book reviewer, will present "The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor - the Truth and the Turmoil" by Tina Brown. She will be portraying Camilla Parker Bowles, a.k.a, the Queen Consort and wife of the King Charles III. You will hear plenty of Buckingham Palace insights and some gossip. Get ready for a rollicking good look at Merry Old England.

Tickets for the luncheon are $50 and are available through club members. You may also contact the Donor Club at DonorClubofElgin@gmail.com.

Doors open at 11 a.m. with lunch served at noon. Guests will be able to purchase homemade cookies and candy and gently used books.

Tickets for raffle baskets will also be available.

All proceeds are donated to local charities that benefit area residents. The Donor Club has been an active philanthropic club since 1913.
