Aurora Film Society hosts monthly Movie Night
The Aurora Film Society is hosting monthly Movie Nights at 7 p.m. at the Aurora Regional Fire Museum, 53 N. Broadway, Aurora.
On May 18, the 1997 Japanese psychological thriller classic "Cure," written and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, will be featured.
On June 15, it will be the 2020 American drama "Minari" about South Korean immigrants who try to make it in the rural United States during the 1980s. The film earned six Oscar nominations, and Youn Yuh-jung won Best Supporting Actress making her the first Korean to win an Academy Award for Acting.
On July 20, the monthly film series continues with the 1996 "Lone Star," an American neo-Western mystery film written and directed by John Sayles and set in a small town in South Texas. The cast features Chris Cooper, Kris Kristofferson, Matthew McConaughey and Elizabeth Peña.
On Aug. 17, the 2010 drama "Even the Rain (También la lluvia) directed by Icíar Bollaín and written by Paul Laverty and starring Gael García Bernal.
On Sept. 21, it will be the 1995 American independent black comedy "Living in Oblivion," written and directed by Tom DiCillo, and starring Steve Buscemi, Catherine Keener, Dermot Mulroney, and Peter Dinklage in his film debut.
On Oct. 19, the 2000 dark comedy thriller "Common Wealth (La Comunidad)" will be shown.
On Nov. 16, it will be the 2021 sci-fi romantic musical "Neptune Frost."
The series will wrap up the year on Dec. 21 with the 1994 American crime drama "Fresh."
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and close by 7:05 p.m. The movie starts no later than 7:05 if possible (any remarks or announcements will be started early and kept short.)
The Aurora Regional Fire Museum is at the corner of Broadway and New York. Park in their east lot.
