Public backs the court

Joe Biden and Brandon Johnson have expressed opposition to the recent Supreme Court's decisions regarding affirmative action, student loan forgiveness, LGBTQ, etc. They used the pronoun "we," as if it was the court versus the entire populace. The fact of the matter is that a very large segment of the population favors the court's decisions. Biden openly stated that he would figure out how to circumvent the court, as if he never heard about the Constitution's "separation of powers" principle.

Similarly, it was reported that the Catholic Church favored affirmative action, but a conservative Catholic organization clearly supported the court's decision.

It is reminiscent of what happened in 2012, when then-Alderman Joe Moreno blocked Chick-fil-A's attempt to open a restaurant in his ward, saying that " ... their values are not our (his) values." Moreno was voted out of office, while Chick-fil-A has numerous restaurants in the Chicago area.
