Public comment sought as Bartlett police seek to renew accreditation

Members of the public are invited to submit comments about the Bartlett Police Department as part of its process to renew accreditation.

Community members are invited to weigh in via an online portal at cimrs2.calea.org/83 or through the link on the police department's section of the village of Bartlett's webpage.

An assessor from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. will arrive on July 24 to examine all aspects of the department's policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services.

Accreditation is a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence and a status the Bartlett Police Department has maintained since 1997.

Members of the department will appear at a hearing on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the CALEA conference in Bellevue, Washington.
