Bears should realize purchase affects taxes
The Chicago Bears seem surprised that the real estate taxes for the Arlington Heights property are going to rise.
Even the most novice purchaser of real estate knows that when the purchase price of the real estate is more than the current assessed value, the assessed value is going to be raised to near the purchase price when the transaction is recorded and the taxes will increase accordingly.
It is disingenuous for the Bears to claim the increase is unfair.
