Both parties share blame for today's problems
I must respond to Ms. Newlin's letter "Base political support on basic human rights" that appeared in the Daily Herald recently. She is looking out of one eye when she so blatantly blames Republicans for the difficulties people are facing today.
Many people are struggling today, but why? Who when they took office in 2020 passed and canceled bills in place that resulted in the inflation we are now incurring? Who stopped drilling, stopped all initiatives on the southern border, etc.?
Since Joe Biden entered the scene, rents went up, gas prices are in the range of all-time highs, food prices out of sight, drugs and criminals entering our country illegally. The stock market is like a yo-yo and most Americans have lost money in our 401K's and it all began after Uncle Joe took office.
Democratic run cities are experiencing high levels of crime. So much so that retailers such as Walgreens and Walmart are leaving cities like San Francisco, Portland and Seattle. There are more needles on the streets of San Francisco than flowers planted. Every weekend there are shootings throughout Chicagoland as we wait for the new socialist-minded mayor to correct the wrongdoing.
She said she has a tough time listening to Republicans in Congress? What is it she likes to hear from the Squad (Omar, OAC, Rashida, Ayanna) ... cries for socialism, stay home and let the government support you, retribution, forgive student loans, spend, spend, spend, etc.?
Finally I do not believe Republicans are taking rights away from women. After a certain period of time, a pro-life supporter is saying a women needs to decide to have the baby or abort it but don't kill a healthy fetus ... common sense.
Both parties need to improve but don't just blame the Republicans for today's difficulties.
