Basic human rights?

A recent letter to the editor began with the title: "Base political support on basic human rights." And I say excellent.

The nonsense that has crept into our country this past generation has all but ignored "basic human rights." I will mention two:

The most obvious is right to life. The taking of innocent human life in the womb violates our most precious gift, life. The right to life is so clear and has come under such attack.

The second right also directly affects the innocent. By what criminal logic can anyone perform mutilating surgery on a child based on a bizarre idea that a boy can "transition" into a girl. Feeding confusion to our adolescent children and somehow justifying this mutilation ... well, that is a violation of a person's natural right to grow into maturity unmolested.

The letter goes on: "Christians cannot serve both God and the Republican agenda." This is not political agenda and this is not serving God; it's common sense.

New title: "Base political support on the common sense of basic human rights."
