Dick Young Forest Preserve parking lot on Nelson Lake Road to be closed for resurfacing June 23-30

One of the parking lots at Dick Young Forest Preserve in Batavia will be undergoing resurfacing June 23-30.

Contractor Champion Paving Corporation will be resurfacing the parking lot. Dick Young Forest Preserve's main entrance parking lot, located at 39W115 Main St. in Batavia will remain open throughout the duration of the construction.

Visitors can access the preserve via this parking lot to enjoy the preserve's amenities.

The Nelson Lake Road parking lot located at 2S326 Nelson Lake Road in Batavia is expected to reopen to the public on Saturday, July 1.

Signs will be posted at the project site, to alert users.

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County asks trail users to obey all signs and barricades, and to always use caution when traveling past trucks and equipment on the trail.
