Letter: Acceptance on display

I attended the Elgin Pride Parade on June 3 with some family members and relatives. It was so refreshing to see the city of Elgin come together for the LGBTQ community.

I would like to thank the various individuals and the city of Elgin for their work in making this parade happen. I was most impressed with the participating Elgin Churches. Their congregations lead the way displaying love and acceptance of all individuals.

Other religious groups/organizations could learn from their example. We all have connections to the LGBTQ community through our family members, relatives, friends, co-workers and neighbors. No judgments needed, just acceptance.
