Chicago Area Hooters Employees Participate in 10K Obstacle Race

For the second year in a row, Chicago area Hooters employees including managers, staff and corporate members came together to take part in a 10K Obstacle Race to honor first responders, veterans and the military on Memorial Day. The event, hosted by Frontline OCR Foundation, was held at Bryon Motosports Park in Bryon, Illinois.

The mission of Frontline OCR Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Not for Profit, is to provide military and first responders an opportunity to participate in a community driven obstacle course race.

"We enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with our co-workers while supporting local military and law enforcement veterans through Frontline OCR and raising funds to support race entries for military, veterans and first responders," said HMC Hospitality Group Marketing Coordinator Stephanie Cruz. Cruz was one of the 12 Chicago area HMC Hospitality Group employees who participated in the Obstacle Race on May 27.

"Being a former federal law enforcement officer, I understand how important it is to provide individuals on the Frontline, with an opportunity to become physically active and to connect with pro social groups in the community. Obstacle course racing provides just that, physical challenges and opportunities to meet positive people. Being on the course allows 'Sheepdogs' the opportunity to help and motivate others on the course. We started Frontline OCR because we met so many veterans and first responders, who were depressed and suicidal, but regained their sense of belonging and mission through obstacle course racing. I'd say that OCR has saved some lives," said CEO of Frontline OCR Foundation Ed Leon.
