Letter: Weak leadership causing our nation's decline
The southern border is wide open, which is a slap in the face to every American taxpayer. We had better control of the border in 2020. Also our economy was healthy. China, Russia, North Korea, Iran were in check. Our military was being rebuilt. Inflation and unemployment were low and minority employment was increasing. The market was strong and our 401(k)s were growing. We were manufacturing more at home. We were energy independent and gas was about $2.15 a gallon.
Mr. Biden, we will always need petroleum and we must produce our own or buy it from Canada. Turning off the switch was wrong.
We have cleaner air and water than most other countries and we were realistically working toward climate control improvements.
This has all changed and it appears we could be in trouble. Our dollar is being destroyed by uncontrolled spending, near record inflation and massive debt. The world's bad guys are out of control and for the first time since WW II there is a major war in Europe. China is threatening Taiwan as well as building a massive military force and buying up half the world, including the USA.
Our leadership projects weakness. Our leadership should be communicating with all world leaders perceived good or bad. Our government needs to encourage Americans to go to work, have strong family values.
Will we ever see the two political parties work together again? Will we see them represent the American people or just vote the party line? Life is about compromise, give and take with the intentions of the final result being what is right for the majority.
We were once the greatest nation on earth, we could be again with the right leadership focused on the right issues doing the right things.
