Letter: Wrong view of segregation
In a recent column, Michael Barone insinuates that segregation in voting, jobs and public accommodations are largely gone in our society.
I guess he must condone what is going on in red states. Most red states are trying to limit the ability to vote in Black and brown areas because they lose in them.
As far as jobs go, the catch phrase is you are either over qualified or not qualified to segregate. Another method is to require a college degree for a job that pays minimum wage and requires no special skills. If a job will not support a family, it is not a job at all.
The right wants to limit basic freedoms, which I believe is against the Constitution.
The right is backing a known sexual predator, tax cheat, adulterer and leader of an insurrection, and they call themselves patriots. It is sad that one man could do this to our democracy.
