Barrington Cultural Commission set to present 'Poetry in the Park'

Join the Barrington Cultural Commission at Citizens Park for an evening of poetry from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, June 22.

Back by popular demand, this free outdoor event gathers poets and poetry lovers alike to enjoy an evening listening to original poems presented by local poets.

Bring your chairs, blankets and picnic baskets to the Citizens Park Robert Soule Amphitheater as local poets read their poems inspired by "Summer, Sunshine & Storms." The poets will explore all the joys, sunshine and stormy weather that summer can bring.

Poetry submissions are open until May 31.

For information on how to submit your poem for consideration and to register for this free event, visit barrington-il.gov/poetry.

This event is sponsored by the Barrington Cultural Commission.
