Letter: Be serious about solar program

There seems to be a push for solar panels in Mundelein. They are calling it "Community Solar Mundelein." I think this is a good idea for the community as well as the environment. This program is on a voluntary basis, and they are trying to get the word out. Mundelein has seen a big increase in construction in the last five years all over town, both public and private. Where are all the solar panels?

If we are building new construction, we should be demanding solar panels on these new buildings. Build the cost right into the cost of construction. It could be a good selling point: save on your electricity. Pretty simple. So if you guys are serious about this program, do something about it. They are all pulling permits for the construction. Make them pull a permit for solar panels.
